Meanwhile, our home county of Kildare is known in international horse breeding circles as ‘The Thoroughbred County’. It hosts three top-class racecourses, numerous world-renowned studs and the fascinating Irish National Stud & Gardens, which is open to the general public and certainly worth a visit to get a real sense of Kildare’s horse power. During your stay, if preferred, we can arrange for you a private visit of any of Kildare’s world-renowned stud farms. 

We are also brilliantly located for those trailblazers seeking adventure and discovery in Ireland’s Ancient East – a broad region where one can experience 5,000 years of Irish history via a trail encompassing medieval castles and monasteries, fine Georgian mansions, megalithic ruins and a further multitude of scenic touchstones and historical landmarks. 

For fans of more contemporary pursuits we are also a stone’s throw from the Kildare Village designer outlet where casual glamour reigns in the shape of chic retail and dining options.
