Stunning Barbie Christmas tree heralds the arrival of Pinkmas at South Bar & Restaurant
Forget white, South Bar & Restaurant will have you dreaming of a hot pink Christmas this season with a special Barbie-themed Christmas tree to welcome you in from the cold and pep-up festive parties.
In the year of the blockbuster movie, Pinkmas is the winter trend for those who love viewing life through rose-tinted glasses and sprinkling some added fizz and fun into festivities. The stunning 12ft tree can be admired from every angle as you ascend the staircase to South Bar and Restaurant, the lively, irreverent hotspot located overlooking the Palmer South golf course at The K Club, Co Kildare.
From bold, magenta baubles to gentle blush bows, the whole spectrum of the iconic colour is covered, embellished with no fewer than 35 Barbies, all of which will be donated to St Vincent De Paul in Maynooth when the tree is taken down in the New Year.
The Barbie tree is the brainchild of Aurelija, partner of Michael Fetherston, owner of The K Club, who says: “No matter your age, so many of us grew up with Barbie. This year, she returned in all her glory to the big screen in a movie that got us all talking and thinking as well as bringing back that lovely childhood nostalgia. I decided to make these lovely memories into a glorious pink reality and I’m so happy that all the Barbies on our tree will find new homes through St Vincent De Paul. I hope the children who receive them will one day make their beautiful memories into something special too.”
